1. Declutter
Rather than adding something new, sometimes the best solution is to simplify what you already have. So, before you begin to beautify your home, you must first clear up the clutter.
Remember to consider your closets and other storage options. There's a strong chance you'll come across some hidden gems that you can utilize to restyle your home. If it's something you haven't touched in a long time, it's time to channel your inner Marie Kondo and let it go. This may be all you need to freshen up your area and free up storage space.
2. Deep-clean
You may notice that your carpet is a touch dingy and your bookcases are dusty now that you've gotten rid of your superfluous stuff. Wipe off all of your hard surfaces, and don't forget the light fixtures.
Take your area rugs outside and shake them to remove dust and debris. Vacuum the carpet thoroughly. You can see the potential of your area with a good, simple palette.
3. Touch up paint
Everyone has extra paint from a prior painting endeavor stashed away in their garage or closet. Use it to repaint a space or touch up any scuffed spots. If you don't have enough paint to finish a whole room, paint an accent wall in another area with what you have. 4. Rearrange furniture
Don't be scared to rearrange items to see what effect they have on your space—you can always put them back if they don't work out. Rearranging furniture is a simple and inexpensive method to try new things.
The parts can also be repurposed in another room.
5. Hide the cords
Another fantastic option to tidy up your room is to hide unsightly cables and wires that may be sticking out of your TV or internet router. Consider concealing them behind your furniture or inside a drawer.
6. Swap accessories
It's time to do some shopping—at home! Remember those adorable throw pillows you picked up on clearance but never used? Make use of what you currently have and don't be afraid to relocate accessories.
Rearrange items on your bookshelves, such as books and tiny objects, or change the art and images on your walls.
This also applies to rugs. To change the look, move carpets from one room to another.
7. Display everyday Items
Think beyond the box if you're short on accessories or bored with the ones you have. Display your jewels in your bedroom or your cups in the kitchen. To give your hardcover books a new look, remove the dust jackets. Create vignettes with photographs of a colorful barware collection.
Everyday things can be swapped out at any time to create entertaining and decorative accessories.
8. Let the light in
If you keep your blinds drawn, opening them up will give your home an instant facelift.
If you currently have them open, look for ways to change things up with your other lighting sources.
Clean up your windows! Cleaning your windows and screens improves the amount of natural light that enters your home. Remember to clean the outside of the window as well.
9. Add some green
Plants add color and charm to any room.
No worries if you have a "brown thumb" but no garden or houseplants. Gather some seasonal foliage, such as ferns or attractive grasses, from your yard. For a temporary presentation, place them in a vase. It's a cheap and simple way to add some green to your home.
